ABPA to Enhance Membership Benefits
International Membership Dues to Increase in 2014
Your Board of Directors is committed to providing the highest quality service to our membership at the lowest possible cost. As the cost of living continues to increase, so does the cost of providing the level of service that our members deserve. Our membership dues were last increased in 1989 by $15. The Budget sub-committee reviewed various options and determined that a modest dues increase was necessary.
After considering all the options, the Board of Directors adopted a mix of a very modest increase in membership dues coupled with a targeted reduction in expenses. The Board voted to increase membership dues by $5 beginning April 1, 2014. This will bring U.S. membership dues to $65.00 and International dues to $79.00, please remember the chapter dues will be in addition to this amount.
As the Association continues forward as the industry leader, additional services are being developed. Some of the more visible benefits will be:
- Increase the funding the development of and access to training aides, including brochures, youth educational materials, FAQ sheets and continued enhancement to the Association’s website to allow more convenient access and procurement; and
- Increasing administrative support for ABPA’s Backflow Tester and Cross-Connection Control Program Specialist Certification Programs; and
- Development of cross connection control program implementation aides for water purveyors in preparation for the Revised Total Coliform Rule requirements; and
- Expand the dialogue within the cross connection control community to find and encourage projects beneficial across the industry.
The ABPA Board of Directors remains committed to providing a quality organization that provides cost effective membership benefits. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact your Regional Director.
